Assembly is the carton open and the parts together. Fitting is on the wall, in the niche, to the floor — fixed so it doesn’t tip. Repair is a wobbly leg, a broken hinge, a back that’s come off. Reupholstery is cloth and foam, if the frame is sound. Transport is shop to home, or the old piece gone.

How the job runs

What’s the difference between assembly and fitting?

Assembly is furniture out of the carton. Fitting is fixing it to the wall, the niche or the floor. Often both on the same day. A kitchen cabinet on the wall is not the same as hanging the doors.

Does the room have to be empty?

Space around the work. A room full of cartons is normal — we open them and take the cardboard if you ask. In a kitchen the hob and sink should be in, or we’ll say beforehand if they’re in the way.

Can you come in the evening or at the weekend?

Often yes. Say when you’ll be home. Evening in Tartu is normal, not a surcharge.

Do you bring screws and wall plugs?

Standard fixings, yes. IKEA screws are in the box. Odd walls (plasterboard, block, concrete) — a photo is enough to say if something is missing.
